Batch from CSV
One code per row. Columns: value (what the code contains), description (optional), type (optional: qr, code128, ean13, ean8, upc, code39, itf14, codabar). Comma, semicolon or tab separated, as Excel and Google Sheets save it.

How to make many codes at once
Put your data in a spreadsheet: one row per code. The first column is what the code contains (a link, product number, serial number…), the second is a description, and an optional third column picks the code type for that row.
Save it as CSV (in Excel: File → Save As → CSV; in Google Sheets: File → Download → CSV).
Drop the file on the Batch from CSV tab. Every row shows up as a preview; rows that can't be encoded are marked in red with the reason.
Download all codes as a ZIP of PNG or SVG files (named after the description), or print them as a label sheet. "Save as PDF" in the print dialog gives you a PDF.
Which code type should I use?
QR code
Links, Wi-Fi details, contact cards, any text. Phone cameras read it directly. Higher error correction makes the code denser but lets it survive scratches or a logo on top.
Code 128
The general-purpose 1D barcode: letters, digits and symbols. A good choice for inventory, asset tags and shipping labels.
EAN-13 / UPC-A / EAN-8
Retail product barcodes. Enter 12 digits (11 for UPC-A, 7 for EAN-8) and the check digit is added for you. To sell in shops you need numbers issued by GS1; made-up numbers only work inside your own system.
Code 39
Older industrial standard: capital letters, digits and a few symbols. Use it when an existing scanner or system requires it.
ITF-14
For cartons and outer packaging that hold several products.
Codabar
Used by libraries, blood banks and some courier systems.
Tips for codes that scan
Keep strong contrast: dark code on a light background. Many scanners can't read light-on-dark codes.
Leave the white margin around the code; scanners need it to find the edges.
For printing, use SVG or PNG at 4×, and test-scan one printed label before printing hundreds.
Shorter content makes a smaller, easier-to-scan QR code. Use a short link where you can.
Frequently asked questions
Is this QR code and barcode generator free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many codes you make. A single batch can have up to 2,000 rows; split bigger lists into several files.
Do the QR codes expire?
No. These are static codes: the link or text is stored in the code itself, with no redirect through our server. They keep working forever, but it also means you can't change where a printed code points. Make a new code instead.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. The codes are generated by your browser on your own device. Your CSV file and the text you type are never sent to us or anyone else, so it is safe to use for internal product numbers or Wi-Fi passwords.
How should my CSV file look?
One row per code. The first column is the code content, the second an optional description and the third an optional code type (qr, code128, ean13, ean8, upc, code39, itf14 or codabar). A header row like value, description, type is optional. Comma, semicolon and tab separated files all work. Use “Download sample CSV” to get a ready-made template.
Can I upload an Excel file directly?
Not an .xlsx file, but saving it as CSV takes a second: in Excel choose File → Save As → CSV UTF-8 (or plain CSV); in Google Sheets choose File → Download → Comma-separated values. Both the newer UTF-8 and the older Excel CSV formats are read correctly, including letters like ä, õ and ü.
Why is a row in my batch marked red?
That row can't be encoded as the chosen code type, and the reason is shown on the card. The usual causes: EAN-13 needs 12 or 13 digits and EAN-8 needs 7 or 8; if you give the full length, the last digit must be a correct check digit. Code 39 allows only capital letters, digits and a few symbols. A QR code can hold roughly 2,900 characters at most. Red rows are left out of the ZIP and the print sheet.
Can I use these barcodes on products sold in shops?
The barcodes themselves are standard and scan everywhere, but shops and marketplaces only accept EAN/UPC numbers that are registered to your company through GS1. Made-up numbers are fine for your own inventory, asset tags or internal labels.
How big should I print a QR code?
At least 2 × 2 cm (about 0.8 inch) for scanning from close up. As a rule of thumb, make the code about one tenth as wide as the scanning distance, so 10 cm wide for a poster read from 1 metre. Print one test label and scan it before printing hundreds.
Should I download PNG or SVG?
SVG is a vector file that stays perfectly sharp at any size, which is best for printing and for design tools like Illustrator, Inkscape, Canva or Word. PNG works everywhere; choose 4× resolution when you plan to print it.
How do I print sticker labels?
Make your batch, choose how many labels per row, then click “Print / save as PDF”. Each code is printed with its description. In the print dialog you can pick your printer or “Save as PDF”, and adjust the scale and margins to fit your label sheet.
